Student Wellbeing

The wellbeing of every community member is a high priority for all at St Anne’s. Wellbeing is everyone’s business.

We refer to the Berry Street Education Model, the Bounce Back program and the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships program to name a few resources.

We are committed to having an hour of explicit teaching of Social Emotional Learning in each class every week. The children are then supported in using the skills they are taught in these sessions during their everyday interactions and experiences.

Some aims of these sessions are:

  • Recognise and manage their emotions
  • Set and achieve positive goals
  • Demonstrate caring and concern for others
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships
  • Manage difficult situations and times resiliently
  • Make responsible decisions
  • Handle interpersonal situations

We work in close partnership with families to ensure that the children’s wellbeing is supported.
